Automatons are some of the hardest enemies in Helldivers 2, and also the most mysterious. The Democracy Officer on board your ship doesn't seem to know how they've built such a massive army, and the plot push right now is to uncover where the robots have been getting built en masse.

But if you have a keen eye to have caught the Automaton logo and have a little knowledge of Helldivers 1, you probably are clued in that the Automatons and former Cyborg faction from the last game are somehow connected.

In this lore video, I establish how the Automaton robots and Cyborgs are connected between Helldivers 1 and Helldivers 2, and what the communist red menace are using to continue the fabrication of their machines.
