Metroid (1986/7) 100% Pickups/Items | Wranker 4K NES Real Hardware Playthrough | NESRGB

Описание к видео Metroid (1986/7) 100% Pickups/Items | Wranker 4K NES Real Hardware Playthrough | NESRGB

Full walkthrough/playthrough of Metroid, released in 1986(J) and 1987(U) for the Famicom and Nintendo Entertainment System respectively, played on the original console with Tim Worthington's RGB MOD. This is an all pickup playthrough, collecting all the power ups in the game.
Metroid is a punishing game, typical of the period, and a mix of Metroid's gameplay and Castlevania is what created the term Metroid-vania. It's a very well designed game with new areas becoming available when power ups are found making exploration not just rewarded, but required. The ending was incredibly progressive for the time, a drawn out troupe now days, but genuinely surprising at the time (No Spoilers lol). Metroid is one of the industry changing games that any retro game fan should play at least once.

******* Notes on this Video *******
This playthrough was captured on real hardware. I have RGB modded my NES with Tim Worthington's RGB board, and the output is stunning, if it wasn't for the tiniest amount of interference, this could be passed off as emulation. Please excuse the slight "jittering", it comes from the frame lock V-Sync of the Retrotink, and is necessary to avoid drop outs in the video signal.

The gameplay is upscaled by the Retrotink 5x, and recorded in 4K, using the M.2 Avermedia 4K Live Gamer capture card.

I upload these playthroughs, mainly for real hardware footage preservation, which is why I use no watermarks or overlays. Feel free to use it as you wish, all I ask, is you don't just reupload it in full. Credit to my main channel would be greatly appreciated, but not required. Youtube, obviously bit-crushes video and audio while compressing, so if you want the raw footage of this video, contact me. While the video is 60FPS, and my NTSC NES runs at 60hz, 90's consoles rarely maintained a high FPS, any slowdowns in framerate are genuine, and due to the consoles hardware. Metroid, in particular, suffers from this massively when there is an abundance of sprites on the screen at once.

Synopsis
Metroid is an action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo. The first installment in the Metroid series, it was originally released in Japan for the Family Computer Disk System in August 1986. North America received a release in August 1987 on the Nintendo Entertainment System in the Game Pak ROM cartridge format, with the European release following in January 1988. Set on the planet Zebes, the story follows Samus Aran as she attempts to retrieve the parasitic Metroid organisms that were stolen by Space Pirates, who plan to replicate the Metroids by exposing them to beta rays and then use them as biological weapons to destroy Samus and all who oppose them. - Wikipedia
