Description :
Lord Mayor of London Alastair King called on UK pension funds to collaborate on major investment projects to attract more foreign investment and strengthen Britain’s economy.
King said UK funds lag behind global peers like Canada and Australia in private market investments, including infrastructure, private debt, and equity. He urged cooperation under the upcoming “Sterling 20” initiative — a plan backed by the City of London Corporation and the UK government.
King also emphasized the need for more “shovel-ready” projects and policy incentives to encourage domestic funding. The Mansion House Accord, signed earlier this year, committed funds to invest at least 10% in unlisted assets by 2030.
