This filter adopts the MBBR working system which is a technological breakthrough in industrial waste processing. Inside the filter tube there is an air stone and filter foam.

This filter works on the basis of air pressure from an aerator or air pump that has sufficient power according to the depth of the tube in the aquarium.

As a biological filter, the MBBR filter media in the XL-600 will continue to move and rub together, triggering faster and more sustainable growth of nitrifying bacteria colonies.

This process will convert ammonia from fish food waste and fish waste into nitrite and then converted into nitrate which is much safer for the biota in the aquarium/aquascape.
