What to do to prevent the harmful effects of screen time?
Ensure a warm, nurturing, secure environment at home, so they feel connected to you. Then they can be open to you about the challenges they face. Guided in a respectful n empathetic manner
Balance with physical activity, sleep hygiene, nutritious healthy eating n hydration
Correct posture - to prevent physical effects
Setting up the device - Parental control, different log-in for your child, setting age-specific restrictions on apps, restrictions/permissions to download any content/app, screen time monitor
co-viewing and monitoring online activity
Videocam - is it necessary
Tools to install - anti-virus, firewalls, identity theft monitoring, advanced security settings
All these will be more effective when they see you also follow it, so be a good role model.
