In this talk, Greg assesses the impact of the Private Security Industry Act 2001 on private security in England and Wales. In his view, private security has not provided the golden solution to the security problem itself: it has instead shifted security threats from within, onto the streets

Greg Los is a second year Criminal Justice and Criminology student from Brighton. On top of his studies, he gets involved in extensive research in a number of areas including immigration and private security. His most recent research has been inspired by his work as a door supervisor and has led him to conduct an investigation regarding the effectiveness of bouncers in the night time economy. So far, his passion for these areas have allowed him to publish findings in a number of conferences including the Crime Surveys User Conference in London and the British Conference of Undergraduate Research 2016 in Manchester.
