DMAN Foundation to Help Inspiring Quadriplegic DJ- Songwriter Produce Her First Music Video in June

DETROIT, MI- Songwriter Anna Pannell, also known as DJ Malika, is getting ready to shoot her first-ever music
video with the help of Danny’s Miracle Angel Network Foundation (D-MAN) on Saturday, June 5, 2021, from
5pm-7pm at Skate World in Troy, Michigan!
The 22-year-old DJ and artist from Ypsilanti is paralyzed from neck down, but she has not let her quadriplegia stifle her musical aspirations! Pannell has been writing, producing, and mixing her own original music since 2018 with the help of hands-free assistive technology provided by the D-MAN Foundation at their Music Therapy Studio in Berkley. D-MAN is now helping Pannell take her new original song “Lashes” to the next level with a Music Video Shoot and Skate Party at Skate World of Troy (2825 East Maple Road)!
“Making dreams come true and improving the quality of life for people like Anna is exactly why the
Foundation exists,” said D-MAN Founder and Chairman, Ziad Kassab. “She is a talented artist with a huge heart and an unstoppable determination to transcend physical limitations with her music. We’re so excited
to help her bring this music video dream to life and have fun while we shoot it with her family and friends at the skate party on the 5th.”
Pannell, whose paralysis is the result of a car accident that happened when she was only a year old, has been living her life on her terms and pursuing her dreams. In addition to mixing, co-producing and writing original lyrics at the D-MAN Studio, Pannell is attending Washtenaw Community College and plans to transfer to Wayne State to pursue a degree in education and become a Preschool or Kindergarten teacher.
She draws musical inspiration from artists like Chris Brown, Ciara and Bow Wow and her original music has been featured on two of D-MAN’s Albums. The music video shoot next month is the next step in Pannell’s inspirational musical journey as a DJ and Songwriter. The video will be created around her latest original track, "Lashes", a song that was inspired by her love of eyelashes because of the way they make her feel
about herself when they make her face and makeup pop!
