Franklin D. Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, and Joseph Stalin.

At the Yalta Conference, the Allied leaders agreed on how Europe would be reshaped after Nazi Germany’s defeat. Germany would be divided, Eastern Europe would fall under Soviet influence, and new borders would redraw the map of the continent.

These decisions helped end World War II — but they also planted the seeds of a new global conflict. Within years, Europe was split by ideology, walls, and military alliances, marking the beginning of the Cold War.
