It took me 4 months to recover from Genshin addiction, but I'm finally back with some anime soundtrack on piano 😅 Also, my computer is finally alive!

I couldn't do anything today because literally 99 percent of my important software and files were on there. I had recorded this yesterday, but decided to go to bed instead of editing. Much to my chagrin, I woke up to a workstation with a dead screen...yet the fans and backlight were all working. Unable to access even BIOS, I resigned myself to wait until my computer completely drained itself of battery, which happened when I returned from work. Happily, that must've also killed the volatile electric signals and reset the battery automatically, so now I have everything back to normal.

Anyways, this week has been especially busy at work, so I was always too tired to come home and play any piano. The episode in question had already aired four days ago, but I didn't get to learn and record the intended piece until three days afterwards...and then my computer decided to give up the ghost today. Sorry about the delay~!

I'm incredibly surprised that no one is talking about this anime. With the possible exception of Remake Our Life from this season (which I recently picked up; it's so good!), the art, soundtrack, and animation in Aquatope is nothing short of breathtaking; it's on par with KyoAni, and I expected nothing less of P.A. Works, the animation studio behind this. This little piece of music stuck out to me at the end of the episode, when Fuuka and Kukuru (with more than a little bit of yuri vibes) return home after work. A bit of polyphony going on in the arrangement itself, and many thicc chords that require a bit of finesse to play gently while keeping all the notes ringing. In the beginning, I tried to summon my inner Horowitz and play everything while barely moving my hands more than a few inches above the keytops (just a bit of fun I had there, lol), but since my keyboard isn't custom weighted for my fingers like Horowitz, I had to move a bit more on this heavy action ahaha. As the end of the original OST seemed to lack some conclusive feeling (which I think might have been the intention, to signify the uncertainty of the future...or am I reading too far into this at 4AM?), I decided to play a G9 chord to close this little performance off.

Anyways, you all need to follow this stunning anime (and Remake Our Life, which I will also be covering music from from now on). These are gems!
