All the nine soldiers who sacrificed their lives in Pul Kanjari in the 1971 war were between 29 and 18 years of age. Among them, Gyan, the only soldier who was 37 years old, was the Shaurya Chakra winner. And Singara Singh, the Mahavir Chakra winner, was 26 years old. Among them, one soldier Jagtar Singh celebrated his 18th birthday on 16 December and sacrificed his life on 17 December. Whenever history will be written on the 1971 war, the saga of bravery of these nine martyrs of Pul Kanjari will be written in golden letters.

Fairs are held on 15 August and 17 December

‘Fairs will be held every year on the funeral pyres of martyrs, this will be the only sign left of those who died for the country’. Fulfilling these lines, a fair is organized in the memory of the martyrs in the village Pul Moran (Kanjari). One fair is organized on 15th August by Gram Panchayat Dhanoeklaan and the other is organized on 17th December at War Memorial. In the fair organized on 17th December, relatives of the martyred soldiers are invited and honored. Apart from this, officers of 2 Sikh Regiment and BSF also participate and offer tributes to the martyred soldiers and honor them.
