I will share why so many people are terrified of being seen as “less,” the surprising benefits that come with rejecting that fear, and how you can approach this mindset in a way that is honest, not another form of showing off.

It is not always easy. You will probably feel the pressure to keep up at work, with friends, or even with strangers who do not know you. I know I have felt it too, those little moments where you wonder if you should dress differently, or buy something you do not need, just to feel like you belong. But those moments also reveal how much freedom you gain when you decide not to play along.
