In this video, we’ll show you how to set up Frequency Diversity using Axient Digital receivers and transmitters.

Frequency Diversity uses two frequencies to carry the audio signal instead of one, protecting against interference and dropouts.

If one of the frequencies experiences a problem, advanced DSP within the receiver intelligently manages the signals to maintain a seamless flow of audio.

Typically, you’ll be using one of these configurations for Frequency Diversity: “Selection Mode” for two bodypack transmitters or “Combining Mode” for a single Frequency Diversity handheld transmitter.

Here’s how to set up Frequency Diversity using 2 bodypacks.

Choose “Selection” mode in the receiver, which is optimized for bodypacks.

Sync the first transmitter to channel 1 and the second transmitter to channel 2.

For single mic applications or musical instruments, use a “Y” cable to route the signal to the transmitters. Perform a sound check to test signal levels.

Select the channel number to access parameters.

For dual mic applications, place the microphones and use the calibration feature in the receiver to balance the levels.

To calibrate, test each mic and adjust the balance until the arrow is in the middle of the scale.

When using an ADX2FD Handheld transmitter for Frequency Diversity, choose the “Combining” mode in the receiver.

Sync the transmitter and do a sound check to adjust your levels.

In Combining mode, adjacent receiver channels are linked into a single channel. Select the illuminated channel button to access and adjust parameters

When set to Frequency Diversity, the receiver audio appears on adjacent channels.
