(AP) President Donald Trump said Monday he hasn't been "overly interested" in the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking case and insists he hasn't pushed for the release of the files because he says, "it's a hoax" and the files were run for four years by his "enemy."

Trump also told reporters he doesn't draw, except occasionally for charities.

Asked about a Wall Street Journal report that he allegedly drew a picture in a birthday letter for Epstein years ago, Trump said "I don't do drawings, I'm not a drawing person."

He would make exceptions for charity, when he would sketch buildings. "I would draw four lines and a little roof," he said.

But, Trump insisted, "I don't do drawings of women." The Journal report says the letter signed by Trump included a provocative drawing of a woman.

Trump also shared a vague story about why he had a falling out with Epstein before he faced criminal charges.

"He stole people that worked for me. I said, don't ever do that again. He did it again. And I threw him out of the place," referring to Mar-a-Lago.

The president said he never went to Epstein's island, despite being asked.

"In one of my very good moments, I turned it down. I didn't want to go to his island," Trump said.
