A sculpture that can be viewed from the inside as well as the
outside has gone on display in the German city of Frankfurt.
The sculpture is called Meggopolis, and is the work of British
'Air Architect' Alan Parkinson.
Inspired by Gothic and Islamic architecture, the work has been
installed in Frankfurt's Palmengarten. It opened to the public
on Wednesday (9/7) and will remain on display for two weeks.
The impetus for the sculpture was an idea that Parkinson had to
find a new therapy for the mentally disabled. The plan was to
give them treatment in a surrounding which had nothing to do
with the world they live in.

would be I think to be particularly stimulated I suppose by the
experience of the intensity of the colour and the intensity of
the light you have with this type of structure."
