A reminder to add Bristol, UK to your UK summer city break list this year 🎈

As a local I'm a bit biased, but Bristol is one of those cities that makes the most of every season. Bristolians always love a big event or a reason to celebrate, and summer is one of the best times to visit! Here are a few things to add to your itinerary ⬇️

1. Bristol International Balloon Fiesta - taking place in August, everyone heads to Ashton Court to watch the balloons fly or light up the night sky✨

2. Bristol Harbour Festival - Another Bristol staple, this huge event takes over the city centre. Watch displays on the water, visit the different stages to listen to local bands, or shop some of the street markets ⛵

3. Bristol Sounds - This has become one of my favourites over the last few years. Big artists put on outdoor concerts in Lloyd's Amphitheatre. We've seen Elbow and Chic in previous years, and they're always supported by smaller local artists 🎨

4. Take a Street Tour - Bristol is a city with a lot of history, and there's a tour for everything. Learn about where famous sayings came from (ship shape and Bristol fashion, anyone?), explore the local graffiti, take a street food tour or learn about some of the huge events that shaped the future of the city 🏙️

5. Shop the UK's longest row of independent shops - Bristol is known for supporting small businesses. Loads of people run their own shops (online and in person) or have a side hustle, and while they're spread across the city Gloucester Road is home to the longest stretch of independent retailers in the UK. Grab a good pair of walking shoes and go explore! 🛍️
