When the second Pizza Time Theatre location in opened in 1978, it was much bigger than anticipated. So much so that there was extra space. So, it was decided to add an extra room that featured an animatronic that preformed separately from the main band. And thus, Dolli Dimples and he Piano Bar lounge was born. Originally, Dolli was meant for adults, and this is seen in her showtape, which features many innuendos that would never be allowed today. It should also be noted that this tape is believed to be incomplete. A newspaper article from the time that Dolli was first unveiled states that she preformed 20 unique skits, however there are only 15 in this collection, meaning that 5 our lost.
