Asakusa is a town located in Taito Ward, Tokyo, and is prosperous as a downtown area and a tourist destination as the temple town of Sensoji Temple.
Asakusa retains the atmosphere of the old townscape of Tokyo, and Nakamise-dori in front of Sensoji Temple has many traditional crafts and Japanese sweets shops.
Near Sensoji Temple, there is Asakusa Hanayashiki, the first amusement park in Japan.
Asakusa is famous as a city where you can enjoy shopping, eating and drinking while enjoying Japanese traditions.

Sensoji Temple is the oldest temple in Tokyo.
It is known as the “Asakusa Kannon” because the Bodhisattva Kannon is the main deity.
There is “Kaminarimon” at the entrance of Sensoji Temple, and when you enter from there, you will find “Nakamise Road”.
Sensoji Temple is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Japan, and the number of visitors is one of the top 10 in Japan.

“Kaminarimon” is the gate of Sensoji Temple.
A vermillion lantern with a height of 3.9 m and a diameter of 3.3 m is suspended in the center of the gate.

The official name is “Furaijinmon”, and it is written as “Furaijinmon” on the opposite side of the lantern with “Kaminarimon” written on it.
“Fujin” is standing on the right side of the gate, and “Raijin” is standing on the left side.
Kaminarimon is one of the most famous sightseeing spots in Asakusa, and you can see tourists from Japan and overseas taking commemorative photos every day in front of Kaminarimon.

Nakamise Road is a 250m approach that goes through the Kaminarimon Gate of Sensoji Temple and leads to Hozomon.During the Edo period, Sensoji gave permission to the nearby residents to open a store instead of cleaning the precincts.This is said to be the origin of Nakamise.There are 54 shops on the east side of Nakamise Road, 35 shops on the west side, and shops selling souvenirs and Japanese sweets are lined up, and it is crowded with many tourists every day.

After passing Nakamise Road, there is Hozomon.The Hozomon is a two-story gate, and statues of Kongo Rikishi are placed on the left and right of the gate.After passing through the Hozomon, you will see the main hall in front of you.The main hall is also called the Kannon hall because it enshrines the main statue of Kannon.There is a five-storied pagoda on the left and Nitenmon on the right.
