On this episode of The #AskMario Show I talk about full body training vs bodybuilding split routines often called the bro split.

The question asked was which one builds more muscle and strength from a practical standpoint.

Summary:
Higher frequency training (either full body or just hitting each muscle groups 2-3 times per week) had shown to produce better results both in terms of strength (more practice) and muscle gains (more frequent muscle protein synthesis) as compared to working the same muscle group once a week.

Since muscle protein synthesis will only be elevated for about 48 hours after a training session for any given muscle. Crushing the muscle hard in one sessions will require 5 days of recovery and for the last 2-3 days the growth stimuli will be close to zero but you won't be able to train again due to lack of recovery.

If you train every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for example, it will theoretically stimulate protein synthesis throughout the entire week.
