I made this gift for my dear friend SACM (aka my Tink) for her birthday, I thought that I should share it with you all aswell.
I made a longer cover of the song but did not have time to finish its editing on time.


What's Happening in the video:
Periwinkle comforts Tink about her troubles and worries, as they witness how Elsa and Merida start to lose themselves to their respective emotions (represented by the butterflies):
Elsa after being called a monster (in the Broadway musical there is even a song related to it, a fantastic one, may I add) and Merida after breaking her bond with her mother (when she was too frustrated and considered that Elinor only cared for her being just like her, perfect and having the same interests and ways of living).
As Peri hugs Tink, butterflies come but they are white again, since together they have hope in that they will defeat those fears.


Character choices:
This is an alternative version for the song and scene of Steven Universe (WARNING, may be SPOILERS!). The song is "Here comes a thought". So what I did was to try to recreate the scene in a Non/Disney style with characters that could represent the original ones:
-Merida as Ruby: I thought of her for both personality traits and physical looks. She tries to look tough and she is pretty impulsive and hot-headed. And also, Ruby, as a red gem... and Merida is a red lioness (seriously, her red hair... in masking her... is everywhere and is a pretty important part of her character).
Elsa as Sapphire: I studied the scene and I thought Elsa was just perfect for the role. She was mentally hurt and had closed herself from the world, letting her fears (represented by the butterflies) to grow until she could not control them. For these I tried to search for a character who seem very upset, Also I thought of some pretty similarities between the original scene and Frozen scenes. And... Elsa is the bluest character I have on my harddrive's movie footage (both when it comes to color and feelings).
I had planned (for the full video) to make also Moana as Connie and Russel and Steven but... lack of time and loss of movie footage =S
Tinkerbell as Stevonnie and Periwinkle as Garnet : Okay that choice is purely symbolic. I thought of someway mixing characters but that would take ages and may not look very good. So I thought. Okay, I'm making a cover of this, and I'm singing it to her, to let her know that I will always be here for her, and that she can count on me. So let's represent ourselfves. She is my Tink and I'm her Peri. So that's it.
-Butterflies: I masked a looot of the butterflies of the scene because I found them a beautiful and visual portrait of the message and in such a poetic and metaphorical way. They represent those thoughts, those worries we have flying around in our heads. I made the last ones turn dark (representing when it gets to the point that it affects our later actions).
