Описание к видео 4 4 1 Exercise Verb Tenses

Verb Tenses

Today we're going to be talking about verb tenses, which describe the time when the action of a verb takes place.

There are three main verb tenses: present, past, and future. And within each of these tenses, there are four forms: simple, continuous (sometimes called progressive), perfect and perfect continuous (sometimes called perfect progressive).

Let's start with the present tense. The present tense is used to describe actions that are happening right now, or that are always true.
For example: I eat breakfast every morning.

Next, we have the past tense. The past tense is used to describe actions that have already happened.
For example: I ate breakfast this morning.

And finally, we have the future tense. The future tense is used to describe actions that will happen in the future.
For example: I will eat breakfast tomorrow morning.

Now, let's talk about the four forms within each tense.
The simple form is the most basic form and simply states the action.
The continuous form describes an action that is in progress.
The perfect form describes a completed action
and the perfect continuous form describes an action that was in progress and has now been completed.

For example:
I am eating breakfast (present continuous)
I have eaten breakfast (present perfect)
I have been eating breakfast (present perfect continuous)

It's important to understand verb tenses because they help us express the time of the action and give our writing clarity and precision.
Verb tenses might seem overwhelming at first, but they're actually pretty simple once you get the hang of it. So let's keep practising and making our writing accurate and clear!
