Green Economy and Environment Minister COLLINS NZOVU says government will employ forest officers on a permanent basis to enhance the protection of forests across the country.

Mr. NZOVU says the current levels of indiscriminate deforestation necessitate more stringent measures to address the situation and reduce charcoal burning.

He explains that providing permanent employment for forest officers will not only motivate them to perform their duties diligently but also help create more jobs.

Mr. NZOVU was speaking during the graduation ceremony of honorary forest officers in Mumbwa district.
