Time To Gain, Let's Haul Some Grain - Welker Farms Inc

This is a part of farming that not many realize takes place. Farmers are known for planting, cultivating, and harvesting but the process of delivering the years crop is overlooked. Usually taking place in the winter months it can be blisteringly cold with icy roads and snow packed grain bins or so muddy it takes a tractor to pull the trucks through. The feeling of filling the last bin after harvest can be a strange one as we are thrilled to have wrapped up the season but also know that all that grain will eventually need removed. It is rewarding work and if the grain doesn't get to the elevators, the farmer doesn't get paid. Not long ago this process was done with shovels, buckets, and tiny augers and trucks.
