Zoom H8 Recorder, Shure SM7b & Shure SM57: Live recording singer-songwriter vocals & acoustic guitar

I'm dusting off my live field recording setup (Zoom H8 portable recorder, Shure SM57, & Shure SM7b microphones) as I get ready to head back out into the woods this fall to shoot some performance videos in nature. I'm still trying to learn the best microphone positions and how to capture the best sound. For this test, I have the SM57 on the acoustic guitar and the SM7b on the vocals. I'm also using the stereo XY capsule that came with the Zoom H8 as a room mic to capture the ambiance. I'm hoping this will work well in the woods.

In this video, I talk through and demonstrate the microphone positions I settled on and my post-recording Ableton Live session, where I do a little EQ, saturation, and compression with FabFilter Pro-Q 3, Saturn 2, and Pro-C 2. This isn't intended as a tutorial on how to do things but rather as a log of where I'm at in my process of figuring out how to produce incredible audio.
