Hey guys, I wanted to breakdown the 12-Inch DeWalt miter saw lineup for anyone in the market for one. There are a few features to consider and if you're not careful you'll get the wrong saw for your needs.

In my opinion, I really like the XPS cutline feature and would recommend it to buyers as it can speed up your workflow. This means that it's really down to the DWS716XPS vs. DWS780. The difference between the two being the sliding feature.

Personally when I buy a new tool I get exactly what I want the first time so I am not wasting time upgrading it in the future. If you have the room in your shop for the sliding feature I say go for it and get the DWS780. Just keep in mind it will have to be placed father from your wall to give a sufficient amount of room to slide. If space is an issue, then the DWS716XPS is a great choice and can be snugged up against the wall no problem.
