There are two big problems with this detour.
First, there's no maps anywhere. There is a map on the Main Roads website showing the sections of path that will be closed, but not where the detour goes.
Second, when approaching the city from the north, there's no detour sign telling you to cross the road to your left. That means you end up cycling down to the tunnel (which is barricaded closed) and then doing a U-turn and retracing your route to the crossing point. I have stopped and talked to the on site traffic controllers about this twice, but nothing has been done about it.
It seems to me that little if any checking is being done by anyone to ensure that the signage conforms with the Traffic Management Plan every day, and that the TMP is fit for purpose (the missing sign might be missing from the Plan).
