Creamy Bacon & Chicken Tortellini – The Ultimate Comfort Food for a Big Family Dinner

This dinner idea was a total hit with our big family, especially Robert who saved some to eat for lunch the next day. — honestly, it might be one of our favorite meals that I'm gonna have to make again soon. it was so cheezy with the cream poured over the bacon and chicken tortellini. This is one of those dinners that had everyone going back for seconds (and thirds). It’s the perfect balance of savory, cheesy, and hearty — comfort food at its finest. I grew up in Florida where my mom made lots of comfort foods for dinner and I now make them for my family because they are great if you're on a budget and go far when serving lots of people.

If you’re looking for a family-style dinner that’s both easy and impressive, here’s the recipe I used:

🥓 Creamy Bacon & Chicken Tortellini 🍗

Ingredients:
• 2 bags of cheese tortellini (fresh or refrigerated)
• 4 lbs boneless chicken breast or thighs, diced
• 1 lb of slices of bacon, chopped
2 (8 oz) blocks of cream cheese
• 2 Tablespoons garlic, minced
• 3-4 cups heavy cream or whole milk
• 1 1/2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
• 1/2 to 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
• 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
1 cup of flour
• 1/2 tablespoon of smoked salt & black pepper
• 1 tablespoon of onion powder, garlic powder, and smoked paprika

Instructions:
1. Cook tortellini according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, cook chopped bacon until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside. Leave bacon grease in the pan and add chicken.
3. Season diced chicken with garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Sauté in the bacon grease until golden and fully cooked through. Remove and set aside.
4. In the same skillet, add flour and remaining spices and whisk until a paste forms and let bubble for 1 to 2 minutes.
5. Slowly, while stirring pour in heavy cream or whole milk. Bring to a simmer.
6. Stir in Parmesan and mozzarella cheese and mix until sauce is smooth and thickened.
7. Pour sauce over the bowl with noodles, chicken, and bacon. Toss until everything is coated and heated through.
8. Garnish with more cheese and serve hot!

This recipe feeds a hungry crowd — and it’s even better the next day.
