This workshop reintroduces fundamental movements to improve isolations and pelvic conditioning, effectively building muscle control for combining beautifully fluid upper body movements and micromovements in the hips. Laban’s Theory Of Movement studies will also be explored, which draws from anatomy, kinesiology and psychology to encourage each dancer’s unique and personal expression and interpretation of the same piece of music.
About Thais:
Thais Carvalho is a Brazilian Fusion Dancer based in Australia, a performer from Imani Tribe Brazil, and Dance instructor in Brisbane. Working on Contemporary fusion as the main dance style, which involves urban bases, classical Indian dance, Tribal Fusion, Spanish Flamenco, improvised Tribal Style, Oriental Belly Dance, and Brazilian ethnic influences, as the style is very rich and multicultural. In 2010 started to study Medicinal plants and their types of extractions and how they affect the body's progress specific for dance.
After a few years researching and studying the deep relation between herbal Medicines and Dance therapy, Thais created the project Tribal Medicine Studies, which means the Integrated Movement through the use of medicinal plants for body progress.
Thais have had many experiences in South America and Australia as Artistic Performances in Imani Tribe Fest in Brazil and Congresses, Earth Frequency Festival, Aruanda Celebration, Elements Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, and workshops around Queensland.
