In this Flashback from 2021, Diddy's former bodyguard, Gene Deal, talked about Bad Boy being in LA after 2Pac's death. He explained that Biggie's "Life After Death" album was completed they were in LA to work on Diddy's album. Gene Deal said that during the trip, Mase was at a celebrity basketball game and was warned by Death Row members that there was still tension between the two label. After Mase told Diddy about the encounter, Gene Deal claimed Diddy wasn't alarmed by the warning. In a recent VladTV interview, Big Gipp stated that part of the reason Biggie's death is still unsolved is due to LA being "all in" on the rapper's passing after 2Pac was fatally shot.
