Reviewing the best compact smartphones in 2025, including mini favourites like Google's Pixel 9a and 10, plus Samsung's Galaxy S25. The top small phones right now also feature flip blowers like the Motorola RAZR 60 Ultra and Z Flip 7 FE. So, which is the best hand-friendly smartphone for you?

The most recent dinky release in the UK includes the diminutive Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro, a pair of smaller flagship devices. They boast some of my favourite features including an excellent camera setup and useful AI tools. However, Google's mini 2025 phones aren't the ones for gaming. You can also pick up a cheaper compact option in the Pixel 9a.

Other notable small phones right now include Samsung's Galaxy S25, the while sadly there's no Sony Xperia 5 VII this year. I'm also a massive fan of the Vivo X200 FE, one of my surprise hits of the year.

If you're stacked with cash, check out the Moto RAZR 60 Ultra and Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 7 - or the cheaper FE. Actually, not the FE, it's not very good. These are some of my favourite flip phones in 2025, offering a compact design with a slick Android experience.

If you're more of an iOS fan, check out the iPhone 17. Just stay well clear of the awful 16e. And if you need a budget option, Motorola's Edge 60 Neo is due out soon!
