Описание к видео Lifelong Learners in Public Libraries: Creative Aging in Missouri and Wyoming

In this video, we share the impact of creative aging in public libraries in Missouri and Wyoming through the lens of library workers, teaching artists, and older adult participants. This video is part of our full-length video, "Libraries Leading Lifelong Learning: Creative Aging in Wyoming and Missouri" spotlighting creative aging programs across Missouri and Wyoming libraries. The programs and people featured in this video were part of a project funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) through the Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian grant program, in partnership with the Wyoming and Missouri State Libraries, Califa Group, and Lifetime Arts. It highlights what’s possible when older adults, artists, and community institutions work together to bring creativity, connection, and purpose into people’s lives. PROJECT UPDATE 2025:

Back in April 2025, our team was notified that the grant supporting this project was terminated after an executive order cut the agency’s funding and re-aligned its priorities. As a result, we had to stop the work and close out this project before completion—cancelling nearly 50 ready-to-launch programs that would have reached hundreds of older adults.

Thanks to a successful appeal, the project grant was fully reinstated in July 2025. We’re thrilled to resume our collaboration with partners nationwide—bringing creative aging programs to life and expanding online resources that showcase the vital role public libraries play as hubs for lifelong learning.
