In this video, I explain the basics of trail braking into a corner and some of the physics behind it. When I'm not training on two wheels, most of my time is spent studying for classes to pursue my Physics degree. I wanted to create this video as a means to explain trail braking to those that haven't tried trail braking before and for the riders that have learned trail braking but wanted to understand more about why riders do it. Whilst preparing for this video, I had a great chat with fellow racer and KSU/SPSU graduate Caesar Gonzales about cornering a motorcycle and why we put certain inputs into the motorcycle. That conversation was very insightful and I plan to go into more detail about that scientific discussion in later videos.
