Dr Roger Miles is a behaviour investigator and research innovator who helps leaders to navigate uncertainty, govern risk, and make robust decisions under stress. His insights draw on his transcontexual education and experience in lingustics, corporate finance and behavioural science.

Following his studies of literature, linguistics, discourse analysis and propaganda at the University of Oxford (incl. Chichelle Prize from All Souls) Roger went on to work in the City of London where among other activities he wrote speeches for Board Directors of high street banks. This had led to his subsequent original, primary research at King's College London [MPhil (2008), PhD (2011)] in corruption in banks' risk reporting systems. In 2010 Roger accurately predicted regulatory regime change to a 'behavioural approach', which happened in 2013.

Since then Roger has advised HM Government on risk communications for defence, public safety and the environment. He has lectured extensively, including at Cambridge University and the UK Defence Academy, and worked internationally with standard-setting and research bodies, governments, lawmakers and professional groups in the context of how the ethics of decision-making and behaviour impacts integrity and sustainability of systems.
