On December 28, 2023, Faraday Future received notification from Nasdaq that the bid price of its listed securities had closed at less than $1.00 per share over the previous 30 consecutive days and, as a result, did not comply with Listing Rule 5550(a)(2).

The Company was provided 180 calendar days, or until June 25, 2024, to regain compliance with the rule.
That means if FFIE was not able to hover up $1 as the closing price for consecutive 10 days till June 25, 2024, FFIE would be determined to be "delisted" from NASDAQ.
Many Hedge Funds have been aware of this fact, then they started "short" on FFIE.
90-95% of floated stock are shorted. Shortes have to buy back this huge stocks, but many hedge funds are betting that FFIE is going to be "delisted", so would not have to buy back.

This also makes FFIE a perfect meme stock, many retail investors on social media think there may be a short squeeze coming and start buying and holding FFIE.

After maintaining its stock price at $1 for 8 consecutive days, Faraday Future plunged 60% on Wednesday, and its stock price ultimately failed to maintain $1.
Looking back at history, this is not the first time Faraday Future has faced trouble.
Faraday Future landed on the U.S. stock market through a reverse acquisition of a SPAC in July 2021.
Only four months after its listing, it received a delisting warning from the Nasdaq because it could not submit its third quarter report for fiscal year 2021 on time.
In fact, Faraday Future's stock price has been in crisis below $1 since September 2022.

The company used up two "180-day grace period" opportunities and completed the "merger of 80 shares into 1 share" operation at the end of August 2023.

Until then did it get away with the delisting threat in September 2023.

But just two months later, Faraday Future's share price fell from more than ten dollars to dozens of cents, triggering the delisting warning again.

As an EV startup, Faraday Future's first model, FF 91, was unveiled at CES in 2017 and attracted widespread attention in the industry.

But then Faraday Future made customers wait a long time. During this period, the company continued to encounter difficulties such as financial constraints, executive turnover, supplier disputes, legal proceedings, and factory construction delays.


So far, Faraday Future has delivered only 10 units of FF 91 2.0.
This week, Faraday Future announced its financial results for its full year ended December 31, 2023.It reported revenue of $0.8 million for 2023 and cost of goods sold of $43 million, compared with no revenue and cost of goods sold in 2022.

This reflects that the Company only began delivering vehicles in the third quarter 2023. Net loss improved to $432 million for 2023, as compared to $602 million for 2022.


The improvement in operating expenses for the year was primarily due to lower research and development expenses as the Company completed product development and transitioned to fulfilling sales through manufacturing and production.
