This crunchy savory fritter is said to originate from India mostly Uttar Pradesh. The word pakoṛa is derived from Sanskrit pakvavaṭa, a compound of pakva (cooked) and vaṭa (a small lump)


Onion/cabbage pakora
3 large onions
¼ lbs. cabbage
21/2 cup besan flour (Channa flour)
2 tsp garlic-ginger paste
11/2 tsp salt.
½ tsp ground chili
1 tsp chili flake
1 tsp cumin (jeera)
1 tsp garam masala
½ tsp turmeric
½ tsp lemon juice
1 tsp dry parsley
2 chili peppers
