This is one of the few in the world with audio pulse.
It features a building (the tall one located to the south) with 14 giant speakers that activated in low visibility.
The audio pulse was exactly like the light pulse so that captains could hear and have perfect position when looking at maps.
You have to see this wonder.

HORREO de CARNOTA

First of all, what is a HORREO?
A horreo is a type of elevated granary to prevent rats from accessing the harvested harvest and also being elevated prevents demages that would be caused to food by the high range of humidity.

The large granaries were often close to a church and the rectory houses, as they usually belonged to these, because the clergy kept 10% of the crops, the famous tax known as the tithe.

I extracted the audio from another video so I have to specify a difference about this one specifically.
Beside being one of the longest of Galicia, this have two crosses at the extremeties of the roof. Instead of a cross on one side and a pinnacle on the other.

Why is this traditional granary so large? Because there was competition with another town about who could build the largest granary!

Great example of what people can do because of the competition spirit. 37m long, this hórreo was built in 1768, and expanded in 1783 with 11 new pieces of pies, as a result of the longest hórreo granary in Spain competition. And won. It’s really amazingly long.

The competition was held against the parish of Lira.
The Hórreo de Lira, built between 1779 and 1814, appears elevated above a stone platform, to save the irregularity of the ground.  It is 36.53 meters long and 1.60 meters tall.

The nearby church with its churchyard paved with tombs, and a small cemetery, is also worth a visit.
