One of the most realistic portrayals of the agonies of Partition. The PAKfilms website says this:

"CHAPTER I
PRELIMINARY
(ca) "audio-visual work" means a work which consists of a series of related images which are intrinsically intended to be shown by the use of amachine or device, such as a projector, viewer or electronic equipment, together with accompanying sound, if any, regardless of the nature of the material object, such as film or tape, in which the work is embodied;
(h) "cinematographic work" means any sequence of visual images including video films of every kind, recorded on material of any description (whether translucent or not), whether silent or accompanied by sound, which, if shown (played back, exhibited) conveys the sensation of motion;”

"CHAPTER III
TERM OF COPYRIGHT
20. Term of copyright in cinematographic works, records and
photographs.---- (1) In the case of a cinematographic work, copyright shall
subsist until fifty years from the beginning of the calendar year next following the
year in which the work is published."

My words:
Pakistani film copyright (including video, dialog, music, lyrics, songs) lasts for fifty years and any film and its songs released more than fifty years ago is in the public domain. No extensions, no renewals, no exceptions. This film is no longer protected by copyright.
