9 Days Escaping the Coming Winter Storm in My Van | Nashville to Key West and Back (Winnebago Revel)

9 days, over 2000 miles, and one goal — get out before the winter storm hit Nashville and chase warmer weather all the way to Key West and back.

A major winter front was moving toward Nashville — snow in the forecast, temperatures dropping fast.
So I packed up my Winnebago Revel and headed south. No plan. No reservations. Just a mission to stay ahead of the cold.

Over the next 9 days, I lived mostly out of the van — parking at Love’s truck stops, stealth camping wherever I could, and following the sun one day at a time. Once I reached Key West, I spent a few nights in a hotel.

What started as a simple run from the storm turned into a drive all the way to Key West, the southernmost point in the United States.

I didn’t plan to go that far, but every mile got warmer. After nine days on the road (and one messy hotel situation in Key West), I made it all the way back to Nashville — greeted by better weather and that feeling of calm only the road can give.

This isn’t a travel vlog about destinations.
It’s real van life — spontaneous, unscripted, and focused on the journey.
