Real Horror: The Colorado Cannibal - Alferd Packer

Trust is not something that should just be given freely. You learn to trust someone by them proving themselves overtime until you can know that they can be relied upon by you, and then subsequently others can rely on them by your word. That said, meeting someone out on the trail, and just assuming they know where they are going, and what they are doing, can get you into trouble. In this well known case, Alferd packer had lied his way into a group of pioneers saying he was a guide, but in reality, he knew the area no more than any of them. This lead to a situation where four men would go missing, and somehow, Alferd survived the harsh conditions. But considering his story was full of holes, he would be questioned but even to this day, nobody truly knows what happened.
