Game Review & Impressions
---------------------------------------------------
Yet another vertical scrolling shoot 'em up I'd no idea existed, Sand Scorpion is the usual affair of blasting everything that moves and collecting power-ups to improve your ship's arsenal, taking down oversized bosses at the end of each stage.

The one issue I have is the fact all of weapons feel underpowered. The enemies turn into real bullet sponges in the later levels and I found it really quite difficult to destroy anything, even before the second loop. Should you make it that far, it becomes impossible to take down most of the regular enemies with any of the weapons, even when fully upgraded. You spend more time trying to avoid enemies than destroy them and simply lurking in the bottom corner of the screen, praying you make it through the stage doesn't make for an engaging experience.

This is a shame, because Sand Scorpion is an otherwise decent game. It looks attractive and is an otherwise accomplished shooter, and could have been a contender if only the weapons had more "oomph" to them.
