The Dark World of Megachurches

Megachurches are a movement. A concept that has been getting bigger, and bigger. And preachers aren’t exactly trying to hide what it is that they really want.

There are around 1,750 megachurches. In the United States, some of them have gained a massive following. Gateway Church in Southlake Texas, Life Church in Edmond Oklahoma, Church of the Highlands in Birmingham Alabama… I’m talking about churches that can fill an entire stadium.

These megachurches are one thing. But, there are also countless smaller churches whose ministers follow the teachings of megachurch pastors. And even if these ministers don’t buy private jets and live in huge mansions, they are spreading the exact same message that these megachurches are doing - the prosperity gospel.
