Kawasaki Ninja GPX 600R Supper Dupper digital dashboard 2024

The Kawasaki Ninja GPX 600R with a custom digital dashboard. Using a 17/36 sprocket chain transmission for more speed on first gear reaching 106 Km/h at 11,700 rpms. At 1:20 the Pirelli Route 66 rear tire slips with hard acceleration, a tire designed for chopper motorcycles. But the penalty with 17/36 sprocket is a lower benchmark from 0 to 60 mph. Despite that I prefer this configuration in the final transmission to avoid the frequently use of 2nd gear, because the KZ gearbox designed in the 70s seems to wear very fast. The second gear has only three dogs for axial engage a weak design.

Please note that the gear shift indicator is not calibrated for the new sprockets. When leaving, it marks 2 when it is first gear because the first gear ratio became almost a second gear with more final speed. It will be recalibrated in these days. Furthermore, I am using a modern ignition box with digital spark advance. The rpms pulses due to the dwell spark advance for the pre-charge of the ignition coil overlap and above 6 thousand rpms the digital calculation drops. The solution is to take the rpms pulses from the crankshaft magnetic sensors without spark advance. All that will be fixed and more things are coming on the digital dashboard because the engine with its 33 years of use is a gem and because I have time for digital electronics.
