PSatB CRASHED MD-83 LAST SEEN ON CAMERA DISAPPEARS. SWIFTAIR EC-LTV

This is the first time and last that I have seen this airplane, It crashed on Thursday 24th July in Mali, operating a flight for Air Algerie.

Air Algérie Flight 5017 (AH5017/DAH5017) was a scheduled international passenger flight from Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, to Algiers, Algeria, operated by Swiftair. The aircraft was chartered by Air Algérie to provide additional capacity during summer season. It was 17.98 years old. On 24 July 2014, the McDonnell Douglas MD-83 aircraft allegedly crashed with 110 passengers and 6 crew on board, after disappearing from radar 50 minutes after take-off. An unidentified Algerian official later claimed anonymously that the aircraft had crashed.

This marked the third major aviation disaster involving a commercial airliner in a one-week span, following the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 on 17 July 2014 and the crash of TransAsia Airways Flight 222 on 23 July 2014.
