Danny Dietz - Conversation with Cindy Dietz-Marsh and Don Marsh

In my continuing journey to speak with Gold Star families, I had the opportunity to talk to Danny's parents - Cindy and Don. Navy SEAL, PO2 Danny Dietz was assigned was assigned to SEAL Team 10 to capture or kill a high ranking target with Mike Murphy, Matt Axelson, and Marcus Luttrell. On Jun 28, 2005, Danny, Mike, and Matt were killed during a fierce gun-fight between the 4 SEAL members and enemy forces.

Cindy spoke of who Danny was growing up as a kid alongside his brother and sister, Eric and Tiffany to why Danny joined the Navy and eventually becoming a Navy SEAL. In addition, a discussion about the movie, Lone Survivor, was discussed.

As with any Gold Star family, it was an honor to meet with Cindy and Don to talk about Danny.
