Gel Printing and Painting

In this video, I demonstrate a painterly approach to gel printing. You can print by painting onto your plate, and even painting on your prints!

Materials used in the video:
Gel plates different sizes
-Regular acrylic paints (Amsterdam/Liquitex) or
-Golden Open acrylic paint
-Colors used in video:
Liquitex/Amsterdam: Titanium white, zinc white, Primary red, Neutral Gray, Blue Gray
Golden Open: Titanium white, alizarin crimson, Hansa yellow, chromium oxide green
-Brayer
-Angled craft brush/Asian calligraphy brush
-Cardstock/printmaking paper/smooth heavyweight paper.
This technique works best with heavier paper rather than copy paper.
