Bomber Raid playthrough - Sega Master System

Описание к видео Bomber Raid playthrough - Sega Master System

Bomber Raid was a shoot 'em up released for the Sega Master System in 1989. It's a pretty standard shooty game, but is significant because it was the final Master System/Mark III game to get an official release in Japan. Here in Europe, the Master System still had plenty of life left in it and would be around for a few more years.

Bomber Raid is a simple vertical scrolling shoot 'em up. You control a fighter plane and need to shoot anything in your path - other planes, tanks, boats, submarines, weird rectangular rotating things, a strange planetary orbital symbol that sometimes falls out of power up boxes.

You have a main weapon which can be upgraded by collecting power ups, and a handful of cluster bombs. Handy for the end battle in my playthrough where I was limited to my default weaponary after losing them shortly before. There's no rapid fire in the game, so it takes a lot of finger pressing to get through it.

Graphics are good, music isn't bad and it's a good blaster overall. Would have been better with more varied and improved power ups, but I still enjoyed it.

For some reason, the game kind of reminded me of an earlier version of the more recent Sky Force games.

To show a full playthrough of this game, it was played on an emulator and some save states were used.
