A rugged machine with the power to pull up to six plies of board under good tension, making stronger cores at the speed you need. The low cost spiral winder machine caters many simple core requirements, maximizes safety and simplifies operations.

A spiral winder builds the core from several widths of slit board. These are drawn around the winding mandrel using a rubber belt driven by the winding head. The winder may feature a 3-axis motorized table to give ultra-rapid setting up times. The core grows and extends off the winding mandrel and on through a set of opposed knives which cut the core to programmed lengths. The knife movement is synchronised to the core speed, matching the growth of the tube and precisely cutting the core to required lengths. The system uses closed loop servo technology and is extremely accurate.

Direct drive to the main capstan eliminates the need for oil bath to lubricate an expensive drive chain mechanism and is quite sufficient for application requiring 3mm wall thickness or less
