Bel-Air Village was developed by Ayala Corporation in 1958 as a private subdivision and gated community for pilots of the Philippine Airlines Pilots Union (ALPAP), composed of over two hundred former Philippine Air Force and U.S. Air Force pilots selling initially at PHP 15.00 per square meter to pilots and PHP 30.00 for non-pilots. It occupies 78 hectares and its street borders are Neptune-Anza-Orion-Mercedes-Amapola Streets, Estrella Street on the northeast, Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) on the southeast, Jupiter Street on the southwest, and Nicanor Garcia (formerly Reposo) Street on the northwest. Bel-Air Village was developed in four phases, and consists of 950 lots, thirty-two streets and two well-developed parks in Phases II and III, each with covered badminton/basketball courts. Lot prices in this neighborhood is north of $US 4 million.
