These are 4 things to keep in mind when positioning your model or posing as a model:

1. Avoid resting the full weight of your head on your hand: This makes your cheeks and other parts of your face look compressed and unflattering. Instead, keep your hands relaxed and touch your head lightly with your hand.

2. Keep your chin straight when looking over your shoulder: Many people tend to raise their chin too high, creating an unnatural looking neck. Instead, keep it straight (but not too low) and relaxed.

3. Make a curve with your body: When leaning against a wall or something similar, try to make a curve with your body. This will create some distance between the object and your body and make your body and pose look more interesting.

4. Adjust the hair to make the neck more visible: Paying attention to details like hair is very important and can make the difference between a good and a great portrait. Try to always show some of the neck and avoid having the hair cover it completely. Otherwise, it may look like the person in front of your camera is missing this important body part.
