Fight'N Rage is a perfect example of how to do a modern beat 'em up well, with great game design and balance. 1cc playthrough is on the maximum difficulty called "Unfair." The game also has multiple paths and endings, and this 1 credit clear is Ending 'F'. This run is not perfect, but it is my first on this difficulty.

Unbelievably, the entire game (with the exception of the killer soundtrack) was all made by one person. The player is provided with plenty of moves to overcome insane odds. The parry, activated by pressing forward just before an attack hits (similar to Street Fighter 3), is arguably the most powerful of these. Successfully executing a parry will make your character flash for a split second and refill your special meter. It is a crucial mechanic in the higher difficulties. You will see a perfect example of this in the final boss fight, where I would've died if not for timing it just right.

I love this game and I recommend all to try it. It has something for players of all skill sets. Playtime was around 175 hours over 4.5 years when the clear was achieved. Including play time to give you an idea of what to expect on the difficulty. I am an experienced beat em up player, but by no means a super player or expert.
