Songs + Nature | Mariposa | Hannah Lou Woods

Описание к видео Songs + Nature | Mariposa | Hannah Lou Woods

Hope you all enjoy this live performance of Mariposa, a song partly inspired by the journey of the monarch butterflies. I had the opportunity to travel to Mexico and see thousands and thousands and thousands of them all in one place and it was so deeply moving. This song was written during those travels.

About the Songs + Nature series:
Nature and music are ways that I find peace, ways that I can find that sense of “okayness” within; they’re ways that I come back home to myself. I find a greater depth of communion and connection with myself and the present moment when I make music in nature. There’s something a little magical that happens for me, and I wanted to share at least a little bit of that experience that I have in nature with you all.

I hope this series can help you also find that sense of peace and okayness, that sense of coming home, even if it’s just for a moment. A breath, a pause, a moment of letting go of the chaos, an opportunity to connect with the beauty that is all around us, and that is always there, waiting for us to remember.

Lyrics:
Lost in endless space
Spinning in and out of place
Of Time's unceasing pace
I want to fly, but I don’t want to fight
What will I find on the other side?

you cannot see what you cannot see you cannot see what you cannot see
you cannot know what you cannot know
you cannot love if you cannot love
you cannot love if you cannot love
you only love if you let it go
I’ve been carrying a burden, I’ve been carrying a weight

Lost in ocean’s stare
wandering as i roam
washed in silent air
I want to fly to the other side
across the water and the great divide

you cannot see what you cannot see you cannot see what you cannot see
you cannot know what you cannot know
you cannot love if you cannot love
you cannot love if you cannot love
you only love if you let it go
When will I begin to fly, when will I let go, let go?

So take the weight off your shoulders
Time will pass on by
With each day we all get older
So let's fly into the night, where wings and dreams collide
In colors and sounds and endless flight, across the unending, every changing open sky
to the other side…
